Shogo Miyakita as Ono no Takamura in Onimusha: Way of the Sword

SHOGO MIYAKITA has joined the cast of Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword, voicing Ono no Takamura in the English-language version of the game.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the latest instalment in Capcom’s long-running action series, casting players as a young Miyamoto Musashi as he battles the demonic Genma.

Shogo’s role Ono no Takamura is one of the allies Musashi meets over the course of his journey, drawn to him through the guidance of the mysterious voice within his gauntlet. Capcom describes the character as a highly skilled swordsman who can vanquish Genma with ease despite his old age, and notes that, much like Musashi and the rival warrior Ganryu, Takamura carries an Oni Gauntlet of his own….

Shogo’s casting continues a run of recent samurai-era roles, following his voice and face-capture work as Toshizō Hijikata in Team Ninja’s Rise of the Rōnin, Minamoto in the Spirit of the Samurai and adds to a résumé that spans games including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Brawl Stars.

There’s more to come, too: Shogo, who is known for his versatility, has also lent his voice to another character in Onimusha: Way of the Sword which has yet to be revealed. More on this soon…

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is set for release on 4 September 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
