CHRISTOPHER BONWELL provides English dubbing for La Virgen Roja (The Red Virgin), available now on Prime Video.

La Virgen Roja is a Spanish historical political drama directed by Paula Ortiz, featuring Najwa Nimri as Aurora Rodríguez and Alba Planas as Hildegart Rodríguez.

Hildegart is conceived and raised by her mother Aurora to become the woman of the future, turning her into one of the most brilliant minds of 30’s Spain as well as a reference on female sexuality. At the age of 18, Hildegart meets Abel Vilella, who will help her to explore a new emotional world and extricate herself from the grip of the maternal nest, while Aurora is afraid of losing control over her daughter. Things come to a head between the two women one summer night in 1933, putting an end to the ‘Hildegart Project’.

The film has been praised for its artistic excellence, and the film’s exploration of themes such as fanaticism, the quest for freedom, and women’s rights.

Available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.

Our thanks to the team at VSI London who provided the English dubbing.
